The SRQ is a free newsletter about the slate roofing industry directed at slate roofing contractors, architects, roofing materials suppliers, and interested owners of buildings with slate roofs. The SRQ provides a free forum for anyone tied to the roofing profession to learn from others, share ideas, advertise slate related products or services, and generally have a way to better communicate with others in the slate roofing business. First published in September 1998 as a four-page newsletter mailed to 6,000 readers, the SRQ has grown rapidly to a sixteen-page piece that is mailed to 17,000 people and emailed to 3,500 people in May 2003.
